Weather Update: There seems to be no relief for people across India from sweltering heat as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heatwave conditions in several parts of India over the next few days. The IMD has projected that parts of Delhi-NCR, Rajasthan, Odisha, Maharashtra, and West Bengal are likely to witness high temperatures and heatwaves in the coming days.
Gautam Budhnagar and Ghaziabad are set to go to polls tomorrow, along with six other constituencies in West Uttar Pradesh. Noida/ Greater Noida. The voters may witness hot sun, throughout the poll duration. However, partial cloud cover is likely to come up in the evening, as per skymet weather. Lightening and thunderstorms are expected in the late evening and night.
The two districts will witness a hot day with soaring temperatures hovering around 40°C. According to skymet weather, the temperature across Delhi-NCR is likely to rise tomorrow, before the pre-monsoon showers lash the capital city and both the constituencies, sometime in the evening and night, after the polling hours.
According to the weather office, In Rajasthan, the temperature saw an increase by 1-2 degrees at many places in Rajasthan. The highest temperature was recorded at 42.1 degrees Celcius in Tonk's Vanasthali.

In Odisha, the IMD said that heat wave conditions were reported over Odisha with the highest maximum temperature of 43.8 degrees Celcius at Jharsuguda of the state.

Heatwave To Continue In Bengal: IMD
The Meteorological Department has also predicted that heatwave conditions prevailing in southern West Bengal are set to continue till at least Sunday with a further rise in maximum temperatures offering no respite for the denizens from the searing heat.
The severe weather conditions in the southern and western districts of West Bengal, caused by dry westerly winds and strong solar insolation, have caused the state government to reschedule summer holidays in schools run or aided by it, as reported by PTI. Many private educational institutions have either switched to online classes or changed their timings.
The MeT department forecast a gradual rise in the maximum temperature by two to four degrees Celsius over the next three days and no large change thereafter in the subsequent two days over south Bengal. It stated that severe heatwave conditions will prevail in the districts of south Bengal. The MeT department advised people to avoid prolonged heat exposure and outdoor work between 11 am and 4 pm.
Heatwave Alert In Maharashtra
The IMD has issued a heatwave alert for Maharashtra's Thane, Raigad districts, and parts of Mumbai from April 27 to 29, news agency PTI reported. The temperatures are likely to peak on April 27 and 28. On Wednesday, IMD scientist Sushma Nair said there is an anti-cyclonic circulation over Thane, Raigad, and parts of Mumbai, which will lead to a rise in temperature.
This is the second heatwave alert issued for Mumbai and the neighbouring region this month. On April 15 and 16, Mumbai and its neighbouring areas witnessed severe hot weather, and temperatures in parts of Navi Mumbai reached 41 degrees Celsius.
Amid the scotching heat, the weather office advised people to avoid prolonged heat exposure, drink sufficient water and stay hydrated, wear light coloured, loose and cotton clothes, cover head or use wet cloth or hat or umbrella while going out during afternoon hours, and schedule strenuous jobs during cooler times of the day, as reported by PTI.
