Weather Update: Delhi-NCR Continue To Witness Rain, Weather Likely To Improve Monday Onwards
While there is no major fall in temperatures in regions adjoining Delhi-NCR are expected, dense fog is likely over Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Rajasthan over January 9 and 10.
New Delhi: Delhi-NCR has been experiencing light to heavy rains for the last two days, and the situation is likely to improve over the coming days. After receiving light rainfall on Sunday morning, the weather is expected to get cleared Monday onwards, predicted India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The rains as per the Met department are due to western disturbances over “north Pakistan & neighbourhood in lower & middle tropospheric levels with a trough aloft in upper tropospheric,” which have led to the formation of cyclonic circulation.
Due to the same, light rainfall or snowfall in regions of Jammu and Kashmir and isolated rainfall or snowfall is expected in regions of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand on Sunday.

The rains are likely to continue on Sunday before the situation gets better. The IMD took to Twitter to warn about the likely rain in North Delhi on Sunday.
“Light intensity rain/drizzle to moderate rain would occur over and adjoining areas of isolated places of North Delhi(Narela, Alipur), West-Delhi, North-west Delhi, Yamunanagar, Karnal, Kurukshetra, Panipat, Gohana, Gannaur, Sonipat, Rohtak, Panipat,” the tweet said.
In the early hours of Sunday morning, the Met department wrote, “Light intensity rain/drizzle to moderate rain would occur over and adjoining areas of isolated places of North Delhi, South-East Delhi, NewDelhi, Lodi road, East-Delhi, Yamunanagar, Karnal, Kurukshetra, Panipat, Gohana, Gannaur, Sonipat.”
