The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in some states on Saturday and issued an orange alert; however, it has not issued any warnings for Delhi-NCR (National Capital Region) and has stated that the ongoing rainfall is likely to decrease from tomorrow onwards, news agency ANI reported. 


"All 12 stations in Delhi received rainfall today. Moderate rainfall to continue till tomorrow. No warning issued. Likely to reduce tomorrow, sky will remain cloudy. No significant rainfall from 10 Oct onwards, drizzling/light rain might happen": RK Jenamani, Scientist, IMD. 






The scientist further added that an orange alert has been issued to several states including Uttarakhand, East and West Uttar Pradesh, East Rajasthan and Gujarat. 


In a tweet, news agency ANI reported, "Heavy to very heavy rainfall might take place in some states for which an orange alert has been issued: 8th & 9th October for Uttarakhand, West UP, East UP, East Rajasthan and today for West MP & Gujarat: RK Jenamani, Scientist, IMD"






The capital experienced a lot of rain on the evening of Friday into Saturday. The IMD predicted on Friday that the national capital would have similar rainy spells during the weekend. A low of roughly 28 degrees Celsius is forecast for Saturday and Sunday.

The IMD tweeted, "Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh from October 7 to October 11, Haryana on October 8 and 9, East Rajasthan from October 7 to October 9, West Madhya Pradesh from October 7 to October 10, and East Madhya Pradesh from October 7 to October 11 are very likely to expect thunderstorm/lightning"






Additionally, isolated extremely heavy rainfall is highly probable over East Uttar Pradesh on October 7, 2022, over West Uttar Pradesh from October 7 through 9, and over Uttarakhand from October 7 through 9.
