Lucknow: In case you are a resident of Uttar Pradesh and watch porn, this news article might be of your concern. The state Police has recently revealed that it will now 'keep an eye' on people's internet search data to monitor those viewing pornographic content on their smartphones. As per reports, a private firm has been hired that will monitor people's internet search data and alert Police regarding the same. The team would keep a track of those who are watching pornographic content on their phones. The Police said that the initiative has been taken to "curb crimes against women" in the state. 


If a person watches porn, the 'UP Women Powerline 1090' will be alerted and following that a team of Police will reach out to the person to prevent "crime against women". The Police claims that the project which had previously been conducted in 6 district of UP had recieved good response from public. 


Speaking about the same, Additional Director General (ADG) Neera Rawat said that in view of the increasing use of the internet, the powerline 1090 would reach out to people to prevent crimes against women.

She said that a company has been hired to keep an eye on what is being searched on the internet by using data. "Basically, it is meant to study the analytics of the internet. If a person watches pornography, the analytics team will get the information," she added.


So, whenever a person tries to access pornographic content on the internet, the Police will send an alert message and the information will be saved with the Police as well. Rawant also clarified that the internet data will inform the 1090 team if a person is searching for porn and then the team will sent 'awareness messages".
