Watch: Mumbai Rains claim another life! Woman on bike dies after hitting pothole
Mumbai Rains: The CCTV footage clearly showed the woman who was identified as Manisha Bhoir, was riding pillion on a bike and held an umbrella to protect herself and her co-rider from the rain.
New Delhi: A woman lost her life after she fell prey to a speeding moving bus in Kalyan near Mumbai. She was crushed to death after she slipped from the two-wheeler as the vehicle hit a pothole. The tragic incident happened on Saturday morning when the 43-year-old woman fell off a bike as the two-wheeler slipped after going over a pothole on a waterlogged street of the city. The whole incident was recorded on a CCTV camera.
The footage clearly showed the woman who was identified as Manisha Bhoir, was riding pillion on a bike and held an umbrella to protect herself and her co-rider from the rain. The bike fell off after it hit a pothole and Manisha came under the rear wheel of the speeding bus. The person who was riding the bike was the deceased woman's relative. He also fell after he lost his balance over the two-wheeler. Both the riders were thrown off the bike to their right as the bike skid over a pothole.
As per the report, the accident happened when the woman was returning home from a school in Thane where she worked. The video showed passers-by and her co-rider rushed towards her to pull her out. But she came under the bus in no time and started bleeding profusely.

Heavy rains have lashed Mumbai and its neighbouring areas, flooding streets and badly affecting life in the city. Due to water-logging, around 300 people were stuck in their homes in Vasai town of the adjoining Palghar district on Monday. Vehicles on many roads were seen crawling because of the rainfall and low visibility. Potholes compounded the problem.
