Uttar Pradesh: In a shocking incident, police’s PCR van got stuck in flood water amid heavy rains in Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur, risking the lives of three policemen travelling.


The car got stuck on an underpass, which is constructed below a railway track in Bilhaur.

The shocking incident was captured on camera, which shows three on-duty police officials, of which two can be seen sitting on the roof of the car in order to save their lives.

After struggling to drag the car for some time, the vehicles was finally rescued with the help of a crane.

Incessant rains have flooded parts of Uttar Pradesh, where Kanpur itself has witnessed 364mm rain since June 1.

Rains have so far claimed165 lives in Uttar Pradesh since July1. Also, 134 people have been so far injured in rain-related incidents.

As per officials, Most of the deaths occurred due to wall or house collapses, uprooting of trees, electrocution and caving in of land.

CM Yogi directs officials to alert people: 

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had directed senior officials of all districts of the state to alert people. He had asked them to undertake extensive tours of the affected areas and to identify dilapidated buildings and get them vacated, a government spokesperson said.

Adityanath directed officials to provide immediate financial and medical assistance to people severely affected by rains.
