New Delhi: Remaining in the news for his aversion to the religion Islam, Wasim Rizvi will now leave the religion and convert to Hinduism today. As per reports Wasim Rizvi, a former member and chairman of the Shia Waqf Board, will embrace the Hindu religion in a Dasna temple in Ghaziabad.
Yati Narsinhanand Giri will be the one who will conduct a ceremony in Dasna temple, Ghaziabad, for Wasim Rizvi's conversion.
To Be Cremated, Not Buried: Wasim Rizvi
Wasim Rizvi had recently expressed, after his death, his desire is that he should not be buried, but should be cremated according to Hindu customs. He had also expressed his wish that Yeti Narasimhananda should fire his pyre.
'Muslims Want To Kill Me'
Waseem Rizvi released a video in which he expressed suspicion of Muslim groups hatching a conspiracy to kill and behead him. In the video message, he said, "My only crime is that I challenged 26 verses of the Quran in the Supreme Court. Muslims want to kill me and have declared that they will not give me a place in any graveyard."
Wasim Rizvi was also in the headlines for filing a petition to remove some verses of the Quran. He had filed a petition in the Supreme Court calling 26 verses of the Quran that 'promote terrorism'. However, rejecting this petition, the Supreme Court imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 on Rizvi.
All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) lodged a complaint with Hyderabad police, seeking action against former chairman of Uttar Pradesh's Shia Wakf Board Wasim Rizvi for blasphemy.
