New Delhi: The future of the students who resorted to shortcuts in order to secure a position in 200-2010 Pre-PG (medical) entrance exam or Vyapam, seems to be landing in soup as the admission of 150 more students could be canceled. These would be students who got a stay from Allahabad HC.

The order is expected after HC sought a suggestion from SC on the same and SC made it very clear that any admission acquired via wrong means must be help illegal.

Supreme Court on Monday stalled admission of 634 candidates who appeared for the exam.

These are the students who got admissions between 2008 and 2012. As per Jutice Chelmeshar, these students were asked to render their services in Army or rural areas for 5 years; post which they would have been allowed to work normally.

Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) who has been probing Vyapam scam, scanned the records of 9.5 lakh aspirants who appeared for medical entrance exam, and as surprise found 121 impersonators.

Majority of these students morphed their photo in online forms and had someone else appear for them as proxies.

According to reports, the CBI approached hundreds of medical colleges and coaching institutes spread across Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Bihar. It thereafter created a database of 9.5 lakh medical students over six months.

A total of 170 cases were registered under Vyapam scam by CBI, out of which chargesheets have been filed in 74. A SIT has been probing the case since 2015.
