Russian President Vladimir Putin on Saturday said that the relations between Russia and India have developed dynamically depsite the difficult international situation in the world. He also noted some major developments and India-Russia bilateral cooperation in the outgoing year in his new year message to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Droupadi Murmu, reported ANI.
"The messages addressed to President of the Republic of India Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister of the Republic of India Narendra Modi note that, despite the difficult international situation, the special and privileged strategic partnership between Russia and India continues to develop dynamically: in the outgoing year, trade has been growing at an exceptionally high rate and joint projects in various areas have been successfully implemented," the note read.
Putin also launded India for hosting the G20 summit and the SCO meet this year and highlighted cooperation between the two countries to develop multifaceted bilateral ties and coordinate effors to boost security and stability at global and regional levels.

"Vladimir Putin praised the results of India's chairmanship of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation and the G20 and stressed his conviction that Moscow and New Delhi will continue to develop multifaceted bilateral ties and effectively coordinate efforts to strengthen security and stability at the regional and global levels," the document read further, according to the ANI report.
The Russian President also extended his greetings for Christmas and New Year to several former foreign heads of the state and government such as Belarus, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Brazil, South Africa, Turkey among others.
During a meeting with External Affairs Minster S Jaishankar on Wednesday, Putin extended an invitation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to visit Moscow in early 2024.
However, a date for the India-Russia Annual Summit, which has not happened for two years in a row, has not been finalised yet by the two sides.
