Viral Sach: People die of electrocution outside Delhi's Rithala metro station?
NEW DELHI: A doing is doing rounds on social media purportedly showing over a dozen people lying unconscious on the ground near Delhi's Rithala metro station.
Several Facebook and Twitter accounts claimed several people were electrocuted as electric current seeped into rainwater.
The images and videos circulated on social media show people lying on the road with a huge crowd gathering around them while the cops helping those who were injured in the 'mishap'.
The clip has put in a state of worry commuters who use services of Delhi metro.
Fact check:
It was a mock drill conducted by the disaster management authority on June 30 in which police, fire brigade, Cats ambulance, CISF and civil defence participated.
The purpose of the entire exercise was to make people aware about the things that they should do in emergency.
Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor, Anil Baijal, had tweeted saying there was a mock drill to test emergency medical protocols, communication restoration and relief mobilization plans among other things.
