New Delhi: A tweet claiming that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has stated that there will be a new strict form of lockdown from December 1st, 2020 has become viral on social media after a prominent media outlet tweeted about it. But the Press Information Bureau (PIB) has dismissed the reports and has informed that the message is just a rumour. The government has asked people to be beware of such news and not to believe in rumours.

PIB has also said this using a tweet that says that'' tweet which was posted by a prominent media outlet is false.

So far there have been no announcements on another lockdown despite several places experiencing a resurgence in Covid-19 cases. According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare website, there is 484547 active case currently, 128668 have been recorded so far. AIIMS Delhi director Randeep Guleria warned that the second wave of coronavirus in India has begun and advised that people should not leave until absolutely necessary, coronavirus cases are rising each day.

The national capital New Delhi has seen an increase in total cases.On Thursday the city is reported to have seen 104 deaths while the daily infection also remained high as 7,053.
