Sarla Devi informed ABP News that Vikas Dubey followed lord Shiva religiously and used to pay visit to the Mahakal Mandir at the onset of Shravan month every year and this is why he was saved this time. His (Vikas Dubey's) in-laws are in Madhya Pradesh.
She said she came to know that Dubey was apprehended by police after the news flashed on TV. Watch LIVE Coverage of his arrest here.
On being asked what she hopes the government would do with Vikas, She said that government should do whatever it feels is appropriate.

Five members of Vikas Dubey’s gang who were on a run after executing the barbaric Kanpur shootout, were killed by police in different encounters.
It is being said that Dubey could have deliberately given in as he feared being shot in police encounter like the rest of his aides.
The entire gang of Dubey are devotees of lord Shiva and are frequent visitors at Shiva temples.

Dubey had entered the temple with a bag in his hand, at around 8.30 am and paid Rs. 250 at the ticket counter, before entering the premises. It is said that a temple staff got suspicious and asked him to remove his face mask and that is when he was recognised and caught. The Madhya Pradesh police has taken the gangster away and their Uttar Pradesh counterparts will now seek transit remand and bring him to Kanpur.
The Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga located in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and is considered to be one of the sacred abodes of Shiva.
Dubey had been eluding the police since the past one week and though four dozen teams of Special Task Force and state police were chasing him, they could not nab him.
