New Delhi: Since May this year, the Vande Bharat Mission has been successfully repatriating Indians stuck around the world due to the coronavirus outbreak. It is now soon going to enter phase 6 in September and Air India has released a list of repatriation flights including air bubble flights which will continue till October 23. The sixth phase of the Vande Bharat mission will get underway from September 1st and will continue till October 23rd. Some of the destinations covered in phase 6 will include destinations such Vancouver,  Toronto, London, Shanghai, Chicago etc.

Union Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said that in this ongoing campaign, more than one million Indians trapped abroad have been brought back from abroad.

In a tweet, Puri said, "More flights and destinations being added to VBM to further widen the geographic reach of the mission in its current phase and in phase six from September 1 to October 24. Our endeavour is to reach out to every stranded and distressed Indian citizen around the world."

The campaign was launched on May 7 in the wake of the Coronavirus epidemic is one of the biggest one which was aimed at bringing back stranded Indians abroad.

According to the Civil Aviation Ministry, 3,830 repatriation flights were operated by the Air India group under the Vande Bharat Mission till August 19th, carrying over 5.05 lakh passengers. Of these, 1919 were inbound flights carrying 3,51,331 passengers and 1,911 outbound flights with 1,54,447 fliers.
