Uttar Pradesh Police Files Case Against Congress Leader For His Remarks On PM Modi

The complainant also alleged that the Congress leader made objectionable comments against Hinduism during the press conference.

Congress state general secretary Sachin Chaudhary was booked by the Uttar Pradesh police for his alleged objectionable remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday.

An FIR was registered against Chaudhary based on a complaint filed by the Bharatiya Janata Party's youth wing leader Akshit Agarwal, said Additional Superintendent of Police Shrish Chandra, reported news agency PTI.

While speaking to reporters, Agarwal, the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) district unit office in-charge said that Congress leader Chaudhary made the remarks against the Prime Minister at a press conference in Sambhal district on Friday.

Agarwal said that Chaudhary targeted Prime Minister Modi over the Adani issue at the press conference. He also said that a video of the Congress leader's "indecent and objectionable" remarks has gone viral on the internet and has been submitted to the police for investigation.

He also alleged that the Congress leader made objectionable comments against Hinduism.

Meanwhile, another defamation case has been filed against Rahul Gandhi for calling RSS 'Kauravas of 21st century'. Kamal Bhadauria, an RSS worker, who is also an advocate filed the case against Rahul for which the hearing will begin on April 12.

"Kaurav kaun they? Ikkisvi sadi ke Kauravon ke baare me bata deta hoon. Ikkisvi sadi ke Kaurav khaki half-pant pehente hain, haath mein laathi liye hote hain aur shaakha lagate hain. Unke side mein, unki taraf, Hindustan ke 2-3 sabse ameer arabpati, khade hain (Who were the Kauravas? Let me tell you about the 21st century Kauravas. They wear khaki half-pants, carry lathi in hand and hold shakhas. India’s 2-3 billionaires are standing with the Kauravas)," Gandhi said during his Bharat Jodo Yatra in Haryana.

The Congress leader is already under fire for his "Modi" surname remark for which he has been disqualified as Lok Sabha MP by a Surat court.
