Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated the 46th President of United States of America Joe Biden, just minutes after he was administered the oath. In a series of tweets, PM Modi welcomed the new US President and said he looks forward to strengthening Indo-US ties.
"My warmest congratulations to JoeBiden on his assumption of office as President of the United States of America. I look forward to working with him to strengthen India-US strategic partnership," Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted.

He also said that India and the US have some common challenges and working together both nations can advance ahead. "My best wishes for a successful term in leading the USA as we stand united and resilient in addressing common challenges and advancing global peace and security," PM Modi wrote in his tweet.
"The India-US partnership is based on shared values. We have a substantial and multifaceted bilateral agenda, growing economic engagement and vibrant people to people linkages. Committed to working with President JoeBiden to take the India-US partnership to even greater heights," Prime Minister wrote further in his tweets.
Earlier, Kamala Harris took oath as the Vice President of the US. In the process, she became the first female US Vice President, the first US Vice President with South Asian heritage and the first US Vice President of colour.
