Garcetti met Shah Rukh Khan at the actor's residence in Mannat in Mumbai and discussed about India's film industry.
US Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti on Tuesday met Shah Rukh Khan at the actor's residence in Mannat in Mumbai and discussed about India's film industry as well as the "huge cultural impact" of Bollywood across the globe.
"Is it time for my Bollywood debut? Had a wonderful chat with superstar Shah Rukh Khan at his residence Mannat, learning more about the film industry in Mumbai and discussing the huge cultural impact of Hollywood and Bollywood across the globe," Garcetti tweeted.
Garcetti's Mumbai trip comes a day after he visited Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. He paid homage to the 'Father of Nation' Mahatma Gandhi and was also seen spinning the 'charkha' at the ashram.
Speaking to reporters on Monday, Garcetti stressed that the relationship between India and the United States was based on a common desire to have stronger economies and a peaceful, prosperous Indo-Pacific region.
"Our relationship is not based on anyone else. It is based on each other, it is based on a warmth of friendship, and it's based on a common desire to have stronger economies and a peaceful, prosperous Indo-Pacific region. Wherever that is challenged, we stand together," Garcetti said.
