UP: Unrest after farmer belonging to minority class killed in police custody in Sitapur; case filed against cops
After the incident, police from several police stations have been deployed in the village. After the post-mortem reports were out, the entire village was protesting and the body of the farmer was kept outside the village for 50 hours.
Lucknow: A farmer belonging to a minority class was brutally thrashed and killed in Uttar Pradesh’s Sitapur. Rampurkala police officials and regional BDC have been accused in the case. As the allegation, the police officials in attempt to suppress the murder case, and save the regional BDC and police officials; put the onus on the family of the farmer himself; which led to unrest in the region.
Funeral after case is filed:
After the incident, police from several police stations have been deployed in the village. After the post-mortem reports were out, the entire village was protesting and the body of the farmer was kept outside the village for 50 hours.
The grieved family is seeking a murder case to be filed against BDC and police officials. Considering the severity of the case, a complaint of thrashing and murder; and a case under SC/ST act has been filed against the accused police officials and the BDC.
The case has been handed over to CO. After the action, the villagers have finally agreed on conducting the funeral of the farmer.
Politics over farmer death:
After the death of a farmer belonging to a backward class, inside jail; the politics has escalated over the issue. BJP MP Kaushal Kishore tweeted to Home Minister Rajnath Singh, UP CM and UP DGP and narrated the apathy of the policemen and sought an action against the accused policemen over the death of farmer.
On the other hand, MP Kishore’s son Anshu has accused police of working with Samajwadi Party-like ideology and later began a protest.
