Gorakhpur airport to be named after Mahayogi Gorakhnath, Agra terminal after Deen Dayal Upadhyaya
NEW DELHI: In a major announcement, the Uttar Pradesh government on Tuesday said the Gorakhpur airport will be named after Mahayogi Gorakhnath and the Agra airport will be named after RSS ideologue Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyaya.
Addressing the media here UP Health Minister Siddharth Nath said, "The civil terminal which is being constructed in Gorakhpur Air Force base would be named after Maha Yogi Gorakhnath ji."
"The civil terminal at Agra Air Force base would be named after Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyaya," he added.
The government also announced 20 new agriculture science institutes in the state.
These decisions were taken in a meeting of the Uttar Pradesh state cabinet headed by chief minister Yogi
Adityanath today.
Siddharth Nath Singh was accompanied in the press conference by Shrikant Sharma, who reiterated that BJP government at the Centre and in state is dedicated to farmers.
"Our government has implemented the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojna in Uttar Pradesh it totality and farmers age getting its benefits," Sharma said.
"The government has decided that the loss farmers incur due to crop damage should be covered during the given time period," he added.
Referring to the key decision of loan waiver for small and marginal farmers in the first Cabinet meeting, Sharma said it showed "the BJP does what it says".
The 'Viklang Kalyan Vibhag' (Handicap Welfare Department) would be renamed as the 'Divyang Jan Shasaktikaran Vibhag' ('Divyang' Empowerment Department), Sharma said.
The Yogi Adtiyanath government in Uttar Pradesh completed one month in office. Adityanath took oath as chief minister of the state on March 19 after the BJP stormed to power with a three-fourths majority in the 403-member Assembly.
