New Delhi: After the police encounter of notorious criminal Vikas Dubey by the UP STF on Friday morning, Congress leader Digvijay Singh demanded that Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister investigate the gangster’s connection with political leaders.

In a series of tweets, Singh has said that Dubey’s connection with police and other government officials will now never be exposed. He also raised questions about the similarity in the encounter of Dubey and his gang members.

He wrote in a tweet, ‘What was feared has happened. Which political people, police, and other government officials were Vikas Dubey connected with will no longer be exposed. In the last 3-4 days, two other gang members of Vikas Dubey have had encounters, but why is the pattern of the three encounters the same?”

He has also demanded an investigation on why Dubey chose the Mahakaal temple in Ujjain as the spot to surrender. He wrote, “It is important to find on which powerful person in Madhya Pradesh was Dubey relying on. Who gave him the confidence to escape an encounter in Uttar Pradesh.”

Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav hit out at the Yogi Adityanath led Uttar Pradesh government and raised doubts about the encounter that happened in the morning.

In a tweet, he said that the encounter was a way to keep the Yogi government safe.

He wrote,” Actually the car did not flip, in fact, a change in government has been avoided by keeping secrets safe.‘

Bihar’s RJD leader and Lalu Prasad Yadav’s son Tej Pratap Yadav also reiterated the same doubts and in a tweet wrote that this was a way to keep the government is safe.

The history-sheeter was arrested in Madhya Pradesh on Thursday morning at Mahakaal Temple in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh after 6 days of dodging the police. Even after his arrest, several opposition leaders raised questions about it. Akhilesh Yadav had asked the government to clarify whether it was surrender or an arrest. He had also demanded the call details record of Vikas to be revealed so that his underground links can be exposed.
