New Delhi: Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Wednesday issued new Unlock-3 guidelines for more activities in areas outside the Containment zones. In the latest released notice, the government of India has relaxed several activities outside the containment zone. For instance, restrictions on the movement of individuals during night have been removed.

Moreover, yoga institutes and gymnasiums will be allowed to open from August 5, 2020. In this regard, standard operating procedures will be issued by the Ministry of health and family welfare for ensuring social distancing and to contain the spread of COVID-19.


The government of India in the released guidelines further stated that all activities, except the following, shall be permitted outside containment zones - Metro Rail, cinema halls, swimming pools, entertainment parks, theatres, bars, auditoriums, assembly halls & similar places

However, certain restrictions continue to follow in view of the surging COVID-19 cases in the country. As per the latest updates in the guidelines, social, political, sports, entertainment, academic, cultural, religious functions and other large congregations still not permitted.

On reopening of schools and other educational institutions, the government said that after extensive consultation with states and UTs, it has been decided that schools, colleges and coaching institutions will remain closed till August 31.

The order also stated that lockdown shall continue to be implemented strictly in the Containment Zones till August 31.

Containment Zones are required to be carefully demarcated by the State/ UT governments with a view to contain the spread of COVID-19, after taking into consideration the guidelines issued by MOHFW, MHA order said adding that within the containment zones, strict perimeter control shall be maintained and only essential activities allowed.
