Baba Ka Dhaba Owner Unconscious For Past 40 Hours After Consuming Sleeping Pills With Alcohol

On Saturday afternoon, police say that Kanta Prasad has not regained consciousness even now. He is undergoing treatment at Safdarjung Hospital.

New Delhi: Over 40 hours have gone by since Kanta Prasad fell unconscious after he attempted suicide by consuming sleeping pills right after drinking alcohol on Thursday. He is currently admitted to the ICU in Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi. 

It was informed that he is in critical condition. Police are waiting for him to come back to his sense to understand the reason behind his desperate measures. 

On Saturday afternoon, police say that Kanta Prasad has not regained consciousness even now. He is undergoing treatment at Safdarjung Hospital.

At around 11:15 pm on Thursday, the police had received information from Safdarjung Hospital that Kanta Prasad had been brought to the hospital in an unconscious state. When the police started the investigation, Kanta Prasad's son Karna told the police that he had fainted in the dhaba. According to South DCP Atul Thakur, Karna had told that Kanta Prasad had consumed sleeping pills after drinking alcohol.

Police say that in the initial investigation, it was found that Prasad was upset as his dhaba wasn't running successfully and that there were a lot of financial troubles. He was also distressed over his dispute with the YouTuber who brought the attention to his shop last year.

However, just a few days ago, YouTuber Gaurav Wasan again reached Baba Ka Dhaba to help Kanta Prasad. In the initial interrogation, Kanta Parasad's wife informed them that he overdosed on sleeping pills as he was stressed about his financial situation. Kanta Prasad is in huge debt right now. His wife said that the rent of the restaurant they opened in New Delhi is Rs 1 lakh and they were earning around Rs 30,000 per month. He shut the restaurant and came back to his dhaba. Kanata Prasad was worried about paying his debts. 

Kanta Prasad, who runs 'Baba Ka Dhaba', came into the limelight last year during the lockdown. When a video of him on YouTube became viral in which he revealed that his dhaba wasn't running due to the lockdown and that the elderly couple was going through a financial crisis.
