New Delhi: Jammu and Kashmir Police arrested three terrorists on Thursday and intercepted a truck carrying AK 47 rifles, foiling a major terror plot in the valley.

‘A truck carrying arms and ammunition has been recovered in Kathua,’ Senior Superintendent of Police Sridhar Patil said.

4 AK-56, and 2 AK-47, 6 magazines and 180 live rounds have been recovered, he said.

"Three people have been arrested, interrogation is underway, the three are affiliated to Jaish-e-Mohammed," he said.

The truck was on its way to Kashmir from Amritsar in Punjab.

Investigations are going on to find out who the arms were supposed to be delivered.


As per the information on the number plate of the truck, it was registered under the name of Suhil Latoo. The driver of the truck, was one Javid Dar, a resident of Pulwama.
