Training Aircraft Makes Emergency Landing At Airport In Belagavi Due To Technical Glitches

A two-seater training aircraft, reportedly belonging to Redbird Aviation, made an emergency landing near Sambra airport in Belagavi on Tuesday, as reported by the news agency ANI. The landing was prompted by technical glitches encountered during the flight. Both pilots sustained minor injuries and have been transported to an Air Force hospital for medical attention. The aircraft belonging to Redbird, had taken off from Sambra airport at approximately 9:30 am and subsequently landed at a farm near Honnihal village.

The local police, fire department, and emergency services swiftly responded to the incident. Nearby villagers also came to the site, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Marihal police station.

Following the incident, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation ordered a detailed probe after a training aircraft made an emergency landing due to a suspected engine malfunction in Karnataka's Belagavi on Tuesday. The aircraft sustained damage. Airforce personnel, training school authorities, and fire tenders rushed to the spot as soon as they received information about the incident.

In another incident, A passenger on a Delhi-bound Air India flight was handed over to security personnel for "unruly behaviour" with crew members during the flight. An Air India spokesperson said the passenger continued with "the unprovoked, aggressive behaviour" after the plane landed in Delhi. The airline has reported the matter to DGCA.

"A passenger on our flight AI882, Goa to Delhi, on May 29, 2023, behaved in an unruly manner. The said passenger verbally abused the crew members and then went on to physically assault one of them on board. On landing at Delhi airport, the passenger continued with the unprovoked, aggressive behaviour and was handed over to the security personnel We have also reported the incident to the regulator," the spokesperson said, as quoted by ANI.

"Safety of our crew and passengers is of utmost importance to us and we strongly condemn this unruly behaviour of the passenger. We will offer all support to the affected crew members," the spokesperson added.
