A traffic cop was dragged by a speeding car after requesting the documents of the driver in the Faridabad district of Haryana. The incident took place at the Ballabhgarh bus stop recorded on video and has since gone viral on social media.


The incident occurred on Friday when a driver, allegedly intoxicated, obstructed traffic by parking his car in the middle of the road to pick up passengers, a report in NDTV said.


A traffic sub-inspector approached the driver, requesting his vehicle documents and preparing to issue a fine. The routine check quickly turned into a heated argument.

Onlookers outlined the incident stating that the driver suddenly hit the accelerator as soon as the sub-inspector leaned in through the driver's door to examine the papers. Before the speeding car stopped, the traffic sub-inspector was hauled a few meters and forced to hang on. The officer was quickly saved from the car by onlookers and other traffic officials.



The driver has been identified by the police, who also pledged to take strict action against him.


Traffic Police Dragged On Car’s Bonnet In Delhi 



A similar incident unfolded on May 24, 2024, when a traffic police official was dragged for a few meters on the bonnet of a car after his effort to stop the vehicle in the Peeragarhi area of Delhi, officers said, India Today reported. As per the police, the constable saw a car approaching, and sensing something suspicious, he tried to stop the vehicle.

 

However, the vehicle didn’t stop and hit him. He fell on the bonnet and held onto the wiper. Subsequently, an officer in another vehicle chased the car and eventually stopped the car. The driver was fined for breaking the traffic rules and was subsequently allowed to go.
