New Delhi: In a sharp attack on the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) in West Bengal, Bharatiya Janta Party president JP Nadda said that TMC stands for 'Terror, Mafia, Corruption'.
Addressing a rally in the Purba Bardhaman district ahead of Panchayat polls in the state, Nadda said that people will soon say goodbye to the Mamata Banerjee government. “People will soon bid adieu to 'jungle raj' of Mamata Banerjee govt in Bengal,” he said.
He said that TMC means – Terror, Mafia and Money Laundering, Corruption and Commission.
Mamata Banerjee Led TMC Govt
BJP chief JP Nadda slammed the incumbent government in West Bengal alleging that it could not work to provide a safe environment to women.
He said, “This is the land of Maa Kaali and Durga and women have a high place in West Bengal society. But I am sad to say that Bengal tops in acid attack incidents, ranks fourth in crime against women, and third place in kidnapping and trafficking of women.”
“This is how a woman CM treats her women from West Bengal,” Nadda took a jibe at CM Mamata.
On the non-implementation of the Ayushman Bharat Scheme in the state, Nadda said, “Ayushman Bharat is blocked by the Didi government, depriving over 4 crore people of Bengal of availing cashless healthcare facilities.”
He urged people to reject this government and said, “Vote out this kind of government and ensure that BJP returns to power in Bengal.”
He also accused TMC party workers of looting things meant for the poor and downtrodden. “Modi ji sends ration for the poor and TMC people loot and benefit themselves,” he added.
Centre’s Steps Towards Bengal’s Development
Talking about step taken by the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre for the state of West Bengal, Nadda said that developmental projects worth thousands of crore were also started as well as dedicated to West Bengal on December 30, 2022.
He said that this is the dedication of PM Modi for West Bengal. “On 30th December 2022, PM Modi even after being in grief and bidding farewell to his mother returned to the duty of his motherland and inaugurated Vande Bharat Express for Bengal,” he added.
He further said, “We do not discriminate and have allotted funds for West Bengal too on priority in this year’s budget. Rs 1,000 crore for Kolkata Metro, Rs 15 crore for Chittaranjan Cancer center, Rs 63 crore for Satyajit Ray film technology, and Rs 23 crore for ISI.”
On rescuing students of Bengal from Ukraine, Nadda said that he was happy that over 300 students from Bengal were also brought home safely after PM Modi intervened and ensured that thousands of our students stuck in Ukraine were brought home safe.
“Good governance and empowerment of Women, Dalits, farmers, Youth, and Tribals are hallmarks of PM Modi's government,” he went on to add.
He said that Mamata Banerjee’s governance is famous as ‘Jungle Raj’ and will be rejected by people soon.
“But on other hand under PM Modi we have become the fifth largest economy and have made strides in all fields. This is development,” Nadda said.
He further stated, “The ideology we have carried forward and founder has come from Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee who came from this pious land. The ideology propagated by Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee is being carried forward by PM Modi and has made BJP the world‘s largest political party.”
Notably, Panchayat polls are scheduled to take place in the state this year where both the BJP and TMC will be having a fierce battle.
