New Delhi: A major terrorist strike was averted after Delhi Police Special Cell (DPSC) arrested three people along with improvised explosive devices (IED) in Goalpara, Assam. According to DPSC, they were from an ISIS inspired module, and have been sent to 10 day Assam police remand.


According to the police, Improvised explosive devices (IED) have been recovered from them and the accused were planning strikes in Assam and then in Delhi.

Delhi Police Special Cell, DCP, told ANI,"We've recovered a complete IED, 1 kg explosives & IED raw materials. They had planned to carry out stabbing attack in a 'lone wolf' style right after the planned IED blast in Goalpara today.They learnt to make IED by watching DIY videos on internet."

IANS reported, two of the apprehended suspects have been identified as Muqaddis Ali and Ranjit Ali, both aged between 25 and 30.

Pramod Kumar Singh, DCP of the Delhi Police Special Cell, will hold a press conference to give more details.
