Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy met Telugu film fraternity members led by FDC Chairman Dil Raju to address various issues including Sandhya stampede case and discuss the development of Tollywood on Thursday. The meet was attended by Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka, Minister Komatireddy Venkata Reddy, Chief Minister's Advisor Vem Narender Reddy and top government officials.


During the meeting, CM Revanth Reddy assured the industry of his administration's unwavering support. The Chief Minister declared a ban on benefit shows, reiterating his commitment to maintaining law and order. He urged celebrities to take responsibility for managing their fan bases and emphasised the industry’s role in promoting a socially responsible image of Telangana. Revanth Reddy called on the industry to leverage Telangana’s rich temple and eco-tourism potential for film projects, boosting the state’s economy.

The CM expressed concern over the recent tragedy at Sandhya Theater. Revanth Reddy highlighted his administration’s issuance of eight JVOs for the film industry during his tenure and announced plans for Gaddar Awards, modeled after the Nandi Awards, to honour excellence in cinema.


The CM proposed organising a conclave in Hyderabad, inviting Bollywood and Hollywood celebrities to explore Telangana as a prime filming destination. FDC Chairman Dil Raju was assigned greater responsibilities to ensure the Film Development Corporation plays an active role in addressing industry challenges. Revanth Reddy also emphasised Telangana’s strategic advantage, noting its excellent shooting locations accessible within a single night’s travel.


The Chief Minister concluded by encouraging the industry to participate, promote, and invest in Telangana’s growth story. He expressed optimism about attracting Bollywood and Hollywood projects, citing the state’s open-minded approach and economic incentives. After a meeting between the Telugu film industry representatives and Telangana CM, the Chairman of Telangana Film Development Corporation, Dil Raju said, "The CM's vision is that our film industry and government should work together. The first point discussed was that the govt and industry should work together to increase the prestige of Tollywood. We will proceed further to create an international hub here in Hyderabad. The govt asked for our support to fight the drug menace. The film industry accepted the proposal to  extend support to govt on this."
