Hyderabad: There is a growing buzz over the possibility of Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao handing over the reins of the state to his son and Cabinet Minister K.T. Rama Rao. The remarks by few ministers and MLAs during the last couple of days have given credence to the buzz in the political circles.

Several Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) ministers and MLAs have dropped hints with remarks that Rama Rao has all the qualities to sit on the coveted post of the Chief Minister.

"Congratulations to KTR who will soon become the Chief Minister. I convey congratulations on behalf of the Assembly and railway employees. I hope that KTR will work to protect the railway employees after becoming the Chief Minister," IANS quoted Deputy Speaker T. Padma Rao as saying at a function of the railways employees' union.

Backward Classes Welfare Minister Gangula Kamalakar too echoed similar sentiments stating that Rama Rao has all the qualities to become the Chief Minister.

He, however, added it is the party’s internal matter and there is no need for discussion on this issue.

Few MLAs have also appealed to KCR in this regard while stating that Rama Rao would motivate the party’s young leaders if handed over the Chief Minister’s chair.

The TRS leaders’ remarks come as the state government completed two years in office in its second term last month.
