New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday slammed Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav for his remark over calling Muhammad Ali Jinnah, founding father of Pakistan, as one of the Indian Freedom fighters.

While calling the remark "Talibani Mentality," UP CM Adityanath said, "Samajwadi Party Chief yesterday compared Jinnah to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. This is shameful. It's Talibani mentality that believes in dividing. Sardar Patel united the country. Presently, under the leadership of PM, work is underway to achieve 'Ek Bharat, Shresth Bharat."

Earlier on Sunday, while lavishing the praise on Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on his 146th birth anniversary during a public meeting in Hardoi, the SP leader said, "Sardar Patel understood the ground and he made decisions accordingly. Hence, he is also known as the Iron Man. Sardar Patel, Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru and (Muhammad Ali) Jinnah studied in the same institute and became barristers. They helped (India) get freedom and never backed away from any struggle."

He further went on to attack BJP with reference to the ban imposed on the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (BJPS's ideological mentor) by Patel, India's first Home Minister, following the assassination of Mahatama Gandhi in 1948, saying only he could do it.

" If Modi Ji hadn't become PM in 2014, then China, Pak would've continued to show their eyes to India...Earlier Jinnah supporters fired upon Ram Bhakts & if they come again they will again do it. But now bullets are fired upon terrorists, traitors," Adityanath said, ANI reported.
