Doctors told IANS that Gogoi suffered a cardiac arrest due to the extreme level of noise that was created in the cinema hall during the cricket match. His body has been sent for an autopsy.

A team of Sivsagar police has started an investigation into the incident.

Gogoi's family said the 34-year-old was healthy and did not have any health issues.

Virat Kohli's sensational unbeaten 82-run knock helped India secure an epic four-wicket win over arch-rivals Pakistan in their T20 World Cup opener. In front of a packed 90,000-plus crowd at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Australia, India snatched victory in the last ball of their innings in one of their most memorable wins against Pakistan.

The match was filled with several ups and downs for both the teams until India, needing 16 to win off the last over, saw Ashwin keeping his calm to score the final run off the last ball.

Apart from Kohli, Hardik Pandya struck 40 off 37 balls and also took three wickets. In the bowling department, Arshdeep Singh (3/32) removed skipper Babar Azam (0) and Rizwan (4) in his first two overs to set the tone and was ably supported by Bhuvneshwar Kumar (1/22).
