Man Makes PM Modi & Judges Parties In Plea, Threatens Suicide. Supreme Court Reacts

In a shocking turn of events, a man who was appearing in person for his petition in the Supreme Court, threathened the judges that he will commit suicide if they rejected his plea. The bench of Justices Sanjiv Khanna, Sanjay Kumar and R. Mahadevan were hearing the man who claimed that he has been running from pillar to post to seek remedy to the persisting issues in Engineering Colleges.

The man who appeared without a lawyer told the court that he had applied in IIT Hyderabad, but he was ousted after two rounds. He filed a plea highlighting various issues with India’s premier engineering institutes like student suicides, mental harassment, lack of transparency in the faculty recruitment process, discrimination, corruption and violation of reservation norms.

Justice Sanjiv Khanna after going through his plea asked him as to what exactly was his grievance.

"There are so many respondents, you make us respondents as well!" Justice Khanna remarked. He further told the petitioner that the way the plea was drafted will not lead him anywhere.

The petitioner had made judges, registrar general of Supreme Court and high courts, the Prime Minister and the Cabinet Secretary, as respondents in the plea.

Justice Khanna explained to him that the way the plea is drafted, he won't find any remedy like this before any judge.

Petitioner then thretened the court that he will commit suicide if the court rejects his plea.

Justice Khanna at this point told the petitioner to not speak like that in the court. "You are not that weak," the judge said.

The petitioner again said that he will commit suicide. Justice Khanna at this point asked the man to not cross his limit with the court and he cannot threaten the court like that. He further counseled the man to reach out for legal aid from the Supreme Court. The judge told the man that he needed some counselling and he can approach for legal aid.

The top court rejected the plea for being ambigous.
