New Delhi: Maharashtra minister Aditya Thackeray along with other leaders of the Maha Vikas Aghadi government inaugurated the Maharashtra pavilion at Davos, Switzerland. The other ministers with Thackeray included Subhash Desai and Nitin Raut.

  


After the inauguration, Aditya Thackeray took to Twitter to share the pictures from the ceremony. Along with the photos, he wrote, “Inaugurated the Maharashtra pavilion at Davos with Ministers Subhash Desai ji and Nitin Raut ji. Maharashtra has a strong presence at Davos this year and we intend to make it better, at all global platforms, for Maharashtra. A stronger Maharashtra for a stronger India.”


In another tweet, he wrote, “At the India Pavilion @Davos. An honour to be representing Maharashtra, India at @wef.”




A delegation of Indian ministers led by Union Minister Piyush Goyal is in Davos, Switzerland attending the World Economic Forum. This year coincides with the World Economic Forum’s 50th anniversary and 35 years of the Forum’s collaboration with India which would provide an opportunity for India to showcase its unified presence including the center and states. 


According to a press release by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, “This event would further help reinforce India’s position as an important and relevant stakeholder in shaping the global narrative, particularly as India assumes presidency of the G-20 in 2023. The WEF will also be a platform to project India as an attractive investment destination in view of its robust economic growth and stable macroeconomic indicators.”


The press release also said that to mark 75 years of Independence and ‘Azaadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’, DPIIT has taken the initiative to have a consolidated marquee India presence at World Economic Forum, Davos from 22-26 May 2022. Alongside the India Lounge, a State Lounge has also been set up. 


Union Minister Goyal is accompanied by ministers from six states among other ministers, that are Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Telangana.
