Nowgam (Jammu and Kashmir): In Jammu and Kashmir's Nowgam, two motorcycle borne terrorists attacked a party of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Jammu and Kashmir Police  on Saturday.


In this attack, a wireless operator of 29 BN CRPF received a bullet injury in his thigh.

"One CRPF personnel got injured, he is out of danger. Entire area cordoned," said Sanjay Kumar, CRPF DIG.

"Militants fired upon a bunker vehicle of Police at Nowgam at 8.45 PM, resulting in injuries to a CRPF head constable who has been shifted to Army hospital for treatment," a police official said.

Public Relation Officer (PRO) of CRPF, Rajesh Yadav said that the police fired in the air to avoid civilian causality as the area was very crowded and had heavy traffic movement.

The terrorists fled from the spot after the incident.

Meanwhile, a massive search operation is underway to nab the terrorists.
