6 Cops En Route To Duty At PM Modi's Rajasthan Rally Killed In Car-Truck Collision

The collision resulted in severe damage to the car's front, causing it to shatter into pieces. Five police personnel died on the spot while one died on his way to Jodhpur for treatment.

The incident occurred within the Sujangarh Sadar police station area of the district.

Six policemen lost their lives, and one was injured in Rajasthan's Churu district following a collision between their vehicle and a truck on Sunday while they were going on duty at Prime Minister Narendra Modi's rally in Rajasthan's Jhunjhunu. The incident occurred within the Sujangarh Sadar police station area of the district. Upon receiving the information about the accident, both police and administrative officials promptly reached the scene, swiftly transporting the injured officers to the hospital.

Reports said that the six policemen from Khinwsar police station in Nagaur, along with one officer from the Mahila police station, were on their way to their duties for PM Modi's election meeting in Jhunjhunu. Their journey was disrupted when their Xylo car collided with a truck on National Highway 58 near the Kanuta post of Sujangarh Sadar police station at around 5:30 AM.

The collision resulted in severe damage to the vehicle's front, causing it to shatter into pieces.

The cops who died on the spot were identified as ASI Ramchandra from Khinwsar police station, constables Kumbharam, Suresh Meena, Thanaram, and constable Mahendra from Mahila police station. Head constable Sukharam and constable Sukharam from Khinwsar police station sustained injuries and were immediately referred to Jodhpur. However, constable Sukharam passed away while being transported to Jodhpur. DGP Umesh Mishra conveyed his condolences over the heartbreaking incident.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot also condoled the loss of lives in the accident.

"Early this morning, sad news was received about the casualties of policemen in a vehicle accident in Sujangarh Sadar area of Churu. Our deepest condolences to the families of all the policemen who died in this accident. I wish for the speedy recovery of the injured," he said on X.
