Thiruvananthapuram: In view of the sudden surge of cases in Kerala, the Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had announced a lockdown in the state. In a press statement the Southern Railways has issued a comprehensive list of trains that will temporarily not operational. 


This measure has been taken to is to curb the spread of the virus in the country especially, within the southern belt.

In an earlier press release it was stated that the trains will be cancelled until May 15th but it has been extended by one day to May 16th 2021. 


The following trains will not be operational from May 6th to May 16th (11 days): 



  • Train No. 02627 Tiruchchirappalll - Trivandrum Daily Special leaving Tiruchchirappalli at 07.05 hrs is fully cancelled

  • Train No. 02628 Trivandrum Tiruchchirappalli Daily Special leaving Trivandrum at 11.35 hrs is fully cancelled

  • Train No. 06341 Guruvayur-Trivandrum Daily Special leaving Guruvayur at 03.25 hrs is fully cancelled

  • Train No. 06342 Trivandrum-Guruvayur Daily Special leaving Trivandrum at 17.30 hrs is fully cancelled

  • Train No. 06327 Punalur Guruvayur Daily Special leaving Punalur at 18.25 hrs is fully cancelled

  • Train No. 06328 Guruvayur-Punalur Daily Special leaving Guruvayur at 05.45 hrs is fully cancelled

  • Train No. 06607 Kannur- Coimbatore Daily Special leaving Kannur at 06.20 hrs is fully cancelled

  • Train No. 06608 Coimbatore-Kannur Daily Special leaving Coimbatore at 14.20 hrs is fully cancelled

  • Train No. 06306 Kannur-Ernakulam Daily Special leaving Kannur af 14.50 his is fully cancelled

  • Train No. 06305 Ernakulam- Kannur Daily Special leaving Ernakulam at 06.00 hrs is fully cancelled

  • Train No. 06308 Kannur- Alappuzha Daily Special leaving Kannur at 05.10 hrs is fully cancelled

  • Train No. 06307 Alappuzha - Kannur Daily Special leaving Alappuzha a 14.45 hrs is fully cancelled


Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan said on Wednesday, that lockdown will be imposed in the state from 6 am on May 8 to May 16, in wake of the surge in COVID-19 cases in the second wave. Kerala reported the highest single-day spike of 41,953 coronavirus cases on Wednesday. It had recorded 37,000 cases on Tuesday.
