New Delhi: Leaders of the Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) on Sunday will address a 'Kisan-Mazdoor Mahapanchayat' at Azad Maidan in Mumbai to demand a legal guarantee for MSP, the removal of Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra Teni over the Lakhimpur Kheri violence, the withdrawal of the Electricity Amendment Bill, and other protesting farmers' demands.

The mahapanchayat, which will be addressed by SKM leaders, will be hosted by over 100 groups under the aegis of Samyukta Shetkari Kamgar Morcha (SSKM).

"In the 'Kisaan Mazdoor Mahapanchayat' (to be held today in Mumbai), all farm-related issues including demand for all crop MSP, implementation of Swaminathan report, unemployment and other issues will be discussed," BKU Leader Rakesh Tikait said.

Earlier on Saturday, farm unions called off a scheduled tractor protest to Parliament stating they would rather wait for the promised repeal of the three agricultural laws to take effect.

The Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM), an umbrella group of farmers' unions, stated earlier this month that 500 farmers will engage in peaceful tractors marches to Parliament every day during the Winter Session beginning November 29 to commemorate one year of anti-farm law protest.

The removal of complaints filed against demonstrators, as well as compensation concerns, are under the jurisdiction of state governments, according to Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar.
