New Delhi: A day after Centre released the 'tentative' agenda list for the Special Parliament Session, Trinamool Congress leader Derek O'Brien said that the full agenda has not been announced yet since the bulletin has a ‘sinister line’ saying this is not the exhaustive list of business.
"They will be up to dirty tricks, and they can add some business last minute," he alleged.
Speaking to the news agency PTI, TMC MP said, "The agenda of Special Parliament Session has still not been announced, and I say this because in the list of business, they have written a very sinister line there saying this is not the exhaustive list of business. They will be up to dirty tricks, and they can add some business last minute."
Opposition leaders have been raising questions over the agenda for the five-day Parliament Session starting from September 18 to 22.
A Parliamentary Bulletin issued on Wednesday gave a "Tentative List of Government Legislative Business," which includes bill on the appointment of the Chief Election Commissioner and other election commissioners to be taken up for consideration and passage.
Other bills listed under the session's 'Legislative Business' in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, include The Advocates (Amendment) Bill, 2023, The Press and Registration of Periodicals Bill, 2023, and The Post Office Bill, 2023.
A discussion on "Parliamentary Journey of 75 years starting from Samvidhan Sabha – Achievements, Experiences, Memories and Learnings" will be held in Lok Sabha on September 18, the first day of the special session, as per the bulletin.
However, the bulletin also states that the list of agenda is 'tentative,' indicating that other issues may also be brought up for discussion during the five-day special session.
