Sidhu Moosewala Death: As the fans of popular Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala assembled on the occasion of the 'Antim Ardas' and ‘bhog‘ ceremonies held at Anaj Mandi in Mansa district of Punjab on Wednesday, the Delhi Police's Special Cell arrested a person from Pune who is said to be a close aide of one of the shooters who was involved in the brutal killing of the singer.

Let us have a look at some of the latest developments in Sidhu Moose Wala's shootout case.

Key Developments In Sidhu Moose Wala Murder

The close aide of one of the shooters arrested from Pune was identified as Sidhesh Hiraman Kamle, alias Mahakaal, reported news agency IANs. He was arrested in a joint operation conducted by a team of Special Cell and Maharashtra Police. Special Commissioner of Police, Special Cell, HS Dhaliwal said: "At least five people are involved in the killing. Actual shooters will be arrested soon."

Four teams of Special Cell were working on the case since the killing of Moose Wala. Dhaliwal also informed that several gangsters across India were questioned to identify the eight shooters who committed the crime.

The probe so far revealed that Lawrence Bishnoi is the mastermind behind Moose Wala's killing noted the senior official. However, he did not reveal the name of the shooter with which Kamle is associated. He claimed that the arrested person has strong linkages with one of the shooters and can help in tracing more than one shooter.

The prime motive behind the Punjabi singer's murder is still unclear. "It is part of the investigation and hence cannot be shared at this stage," Dhaliwal said, adding all relevant information is being shared with the Punjab Police.

Meanwhile, Punjab Police on Wednesday said it has been working to extradite gangster Goldy Brar who has claimed responsibility for the killing of the Punjabi singer on behalf of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

Satinderjit Singh, alias Goldy Brar, a native of Sri Muktsar Sahib who went to Canada on a student visa in 2017, is an active member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

The Punjab police had already sent the proposal to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to issue a Red Corner notice against Brar on May 19, 10 days before the killing of Moosewala. The official told the news agency that it will pave the way for his extradition to India.

The proposal was sent on the basis of two cases, one dated November 12, 2020, and another of February 18, 2021.

Along with Mahakaal, nine people have been arrested in this case. On Tuesday, Punjab Police arrested eight people for providing logistics support, conducting recce and harbouring the shooters of Moose Wala, Punjab Police has said. Among those arrested is a man who pretended to be a fan and took a selfie with Moose Wala just before the murder.

On the other hand, Punjab Police has also sought the issuance of Red Corner notices against gangster-turned-terrorist Harwinder Singh Sandhu, alias Rinda of Tarn Taran, which was sent to the CBI on May 5, 2022. Rinda, who is responsible for inducting and operationalising terrorist modules, is now based in Pakistan.

Rinda is backed by Pakistan's ISI and is also responsible for smuggling huge quantities of arms and ammunition into India, reported IANS.
