New Delhi: Former media baron Indrani Mukerjea, facing trial for the alleged murder of her daughter Sheena Bora in 2012, filed a bail plea in the Supreme Court on Thursday.

The matter has been adjourned for February 14 as the apex court did not receive the order copy, ANI reported.

Indrani, who is presently in judicial custody in connection with the murder case, was arrested in August 2015.

The trial is currently underway before the special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court.

Earlier last month, the former media baron submitted a hand-written application before a special court in Mumbai claiming her daughter Sheena Bora, whom she is accused of killing, is alive.

Indrani in the eight-page application submitted through her lawyer Sana Raees Khan, sought the court to direct the CBI, the prosecution, to file an affidavit in response to her claims.

She sought to know if the CBI has taken any steps to ascertain her claims that Sheena Bora was alive.

Earlier in April 2012, Sheena Bora (24) was allegedly strangled in a car by Indrani Mukerjea, her then driver Shyamvar Rai and her former husband Sanjeev Khanna.

As per the findings of the CBI, Indrani disapproved of her daughter’s relationship with Rahul Mukerjea, the son of former media baron and her then husband Peter Mukerjea from an earlier marriage.

Peter Mukerjea is out on bail in the case.

The high-profile murder case made national headlines in 2015 when Shyamvar Rai spilled the beans when questioned by the police in another case.
