Mumbai: National Congress Party chief Sharad Pawar snubbed Ajit Pawar’s statement of NCP-BJP alliance in Maharashtra by saying his party will not form an alliance with the BJP, adding that Ajit Pawar is misleading the people by creating confusion and claiming that NCP will support BJP to form government in Maharashtra.

“There is no question of forming an alliance with BJP. NCP has unanimously decided to ally with Shiv Sena & Congress to form government. Shri Ajit Pawar’s statement is false and misleading in order to create confusion and false perception among the people.” Sharad Pawar said in a tweet.

Ajit Pawar, today, tweeted that he is still in the NCP and Sharad Pawar is the leader of the party. Ajit further said NCP and BJP will form the next government in Maharashtra.

“I'm in NCP & shall always be in the NCP, and Sharad Pawar saheb is our leader. Our BJP-NCP alliance shall provide a stable Government in Maharashtra for the next five years which will work sincerely for the welfare of the state and its people.” Ajit Pawar wrote on twitter.

Reacting to Ajit Pawar's Tweet claiming that NCP-BJP will form a stable government in Maharashtra, Congress leader Ashok Chavan says: "I don't know what stable government there will be because there is no government."

Earlier today, Ajit Pawar had thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union home minister Amit Shah, day after he was sworn in as the deputy chief minister of Maharashtra. Pawar thanked PM Modi and assured him of a stable government in Maharashtra.

Many BJP leaders took to Twitter to congratulate Pawar for forming the government along with Devendra Fadnavis in Maharashtra. Pawar has also changed his Twitter bio to "Deputy CM of Maharashtra" and has thanked 18 BJP leaders on Twitter in past 30 minutes.

“Thank you Hon. Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji. We will ensure a stable Government that will work hard for the welfare of the people of Maharashtra.” Ajit Pawar tweeted.
