Second Part Of 2023 Budget Session Likely To Be Held In New Parliament Building: Report

The second part of the Budget session, as per the PTI report, will most likely be held at the new Parliament building. The second part of the session usually starts in the second week of January.

The new Parliament building is expected to be dedicated in March when the House resumes for the second part of the Budget Session.
Officials said construction on the Parliament building was underway and will be completed by February, news agency Press Trust of India (PTI) reported on Friday quoting parliamentary sources. 

According to the PTI report, the second part of the Budget session will most likely be held at the new Parliament building.

The Budget session is usually divided into two parts; the first begins on January 30 or 31 with the President's address to the joint sitting of the two Houses.

On February 1, the Union Budget is tabled. The first part generally ends on February 8 or 9.

The second part of the session usually begins in the second week of January and lasts until early May.

As per the PTI report, parliamentary sources stated that part two of the session would most likely be held in the new Parliament building, which has been built adjacent to the current structure.

Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri stated last month that construction work on the new Parliament building is progressing at a rapid rate.

The new Parliament building is part of the Central Vista project, which is the nation's power corridor.

In December 2020, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for the new Parliament building.

Tata Projects Limited is building the new facility, which will have a grand Constitution Hall to showcase India's democratic legacy, a lounge for members of Parliament, a library, various committee rooms, dining places, and enough parking space.
