Mumbai Police's Crime Branch has been agressively investigating the firing incident which occurred outside actor Salman Khan's residence in Bandra on April 14 at around 5 am. During the probe, police managed to nab the two accused Vicky Gupta and Sagar Paul. Vicky Gupta's brother Sonu Gupta, who is also suspected of being involved in the consipracy, was also apprehended by the Crime Branch from Chandigarh. Since then the police officials have been interrogating them continuously.


According to information received from the Mumbai Crime Branch, the accused shooter Sagar Pal was influenced by the gangster's lifestyle. Thereafter, he came into contact with the criminal gang to fulfill his dreams. It was then that he got the job of firing at Salman Khan.


The accused were told by the gang that it is a big job and they will get good money for it.


The arrested duo had surveyed Salman Khan's farmhouse in Panvel area four days before the firing incident, as per information by the Mumbai Crime Branch.


Sagar Pal, the shooter, had practiced shooting in Bihar along with the other shooters.


The preliminary investigation also revealed that the accused fired shots to spread terror, seeking maximum media coverage. 


Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde Visits Salman Khan After Firing Incident


Following the incident, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Tuesday visited actor Salman Khan at his residence Galaxy Apartment in Bandra. Salman Khan's father an Senior screenwriter Salim Khan was also present during the meeting. Former MLA Baba Siddiqui, Yuva Sena's Rahul Kanal, and MLA Zeeshan Siddiqui,were also present.


Earlier, Mumbai Police's crime branch disclosed to a local court that the two suspects who were arrested in connection with the firing incident had allegedly intended to assassinate the actor.The duo, identified as Vicky Gupta (24) and Sagar Pal (21), hailing from Bihar, were nabbed in Gujarat's Kutch district after evading authorities since the firing incident occurred.

"Gupta was riding the motorcycle at the time of the incident and Pal, who was riding pillion, had fired shots at the actor's house," stated the police, as quoted by PTI.


The accused were presented before a magistrate's court on April 16, where the police sought a 14-day custody to investigate the matter in depth and delve into the conspiracy to figure out who the mastermind behind the attack was.
