New Delhi: Delhi Police on Monday filed a 170-page charge sheet in connection with the murder of wrestler Sagar Dhankar at Chhatrasal Stadium in Delhi. Sushil Kumar has been named as the main accused in this case.
After a three-month-long investigation, a charge sheet has been filed in the police Sagar Dhankar murder case. Although 15 of the accused in this case have been arrested so far, there are some who are still absconding.
Kala Jathedi, who was recently arrested by the Special Cell of Delhi Police, will soon be questioned by the Crime Branch in this case. In court, Sushil Kumar claimed death threats from Kala Jathedi. The charge sheet states that wrestler Sagar Dhankar was killed in the fight for supremacy in Wrestling.
Since the murder came to light, wrestler Sushil Kumar claims that he did not do anything with the intention of killing. They did have a fight, but Sagar's murder was not intended.
However, police investigation indicates that there was a fight for supremacy between these two and the resentment between the wrestlers had increased so much that Sushil Kumar planned and executed Sagar Dhankar's kidnapping, and then physically assaulted him which led to his death.
Wrestler Sushil Kumar, along with several of his teammates, had attacked junior wrestler Sagar Dhankar and his partner Sonu Mahal at Chhatrasal Stadium on the intervening night of May 4 and 5. Sagar Dhankhar was killed in this attack.
