New Delhi: A program that aims to give "sanskar" to babies while they are in the womb is being developed by an RSS-affiliated organization, reported the news agnecy PTI.
According to Madhuri Marathe, its national organising secretary, Samvardhinee Nyas, an RSS affiliate, has launched a campaign titled "Garbha Sanskar" for pregnant women to teach their babies about culture and values while they are still in the womb.
The Nyas is planning a program with gynecologists, ayurvedic doctors, and yoga instructors to "impart cultural values to babies in the womb" by chanting the Gita, the Ramayana, and practicing yoga during pregnancy. According to Marathe, "a baby in the womb can learn up to 500 words."
This program will begin during pregnancy and continue until babies are two years old. It will place an emphasis on chanting the Gita shlokas, also known as chaupais of the Ramayana.
Marathe stated, "The aim and objective of this campaign is to develop a programme which ensures that the baby can learn sanskar (culture and values) in womb and the process continues till the baby gets two years old."

She stated that the women's wing of the RSS, Samvardhinee Nyas, intends to communicate with at least 1,000 women through this campaign.
She also said that the Nyas held a workshop on Sunday at Jawaharlal Nehru University as part of this campaign. Several gynecologists, including some from AIIMS-Delhi, were there.
According to New Indian Express, the therapy involves pregnant women being instructed to read "good" literature, listen to "good" music, and watch videos that are motivational and positive. While doing so, scientific methods will be used to examine the effect of the practice on the mother's body.
