Preparations are going on in full swing for the 76th Republic Day Parade. This time, in order to show the diversity and cultural inclusiveness of the country, a total of 26 tableaux from various states, union territories and central ministries will be participating in the grand parade at Delhi's Kartavya Path.
However, this is the first time when both a father and son will be seen together on the Republic Day parade. The most special thing about this will be that the father will be seen leading this parade and his son is a part of the Lieutenant Mounted Regiment. The name of this special father-son duo is General Bhavnish Kumar-Ahaan Kumar.
Regarding leading the parade, Lieutenant General Bhavnish Kumar said, "It is a matter of good fortune for me that this time I will lead the parade. On Kartavya Path, you have the National Flag, National War Memorial and the statue of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose in front of you. When you see this while walking on the Kartavya Path, you get to know the sense of duty. During this time, you remember your brave soldiers, martyrs and your ancestors."
Son Ahaan Kumar, while thanking his regiment said, "I would like to thank my regiment a lot because it is the only active mounted regiment in the world."
Mounted Regiment means horse-mounted regiment. It is a regiment of the Indian Army. Horsemen and howitzer guns are part of the Mounted Regiment.
For the first time, a joint tableau of the three wings of the army, Army, Navy and Air Force is being presented. This joint tableau is a symbol of better coordination, jointness and integration of the armed forces in water, land and sky. This tableau will display a battlefield scenario.
The Chief Guest for the Republic Day parade this year will be President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto.
