Happy Raksha Bandhan 2020: Raksha Bandhan which in Sanskrit means ‘the bond of protection or care ‘is a Hindu festival that celebrates the bond between a brother and a sister. It is observed on the last day of the Hindu lunar calendar month of Shraavana, which typically falls in August. During this day, sisters will tie a sacred thread or amulet on the wrists of their brothers and receive gifts in return. It is a festival marked with joyous get-togethers and delicious food. Due to the pandemic, this year the celebrations may be a low key affair, especially with limited public transport options.
