Rajnath Singh In Rajya Sabha: India Didn't Lose An Inch Of Land In Talks With China, Complete Disengagement Has Begun At Pangong Tso

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said in Rajya Sabha that both the countries have agreed for disengagement of troops at LAC and the countries will look forward to maintaining peace and tranquillity.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh addressed Rajya Sabha on the present situation at LAC and said that India and China have agreed for a complete disengagement along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh. Rajnath Singh said that India and China have held military and diplomatic level talks for the past 9 months and this has led to the disengagement at Pangong Tso, which has been a major friction point for the past ten months.

Rajnath Singh said that India is committed to maintaining bilateral ties with China and both countries intended to restore peace and tranquility at the Line of Actual Control. Rajnath Singh said," Due to the steps taken by China, there has been a disturbance to peace and tranquility along the LAC. Our sustained talks with China have led to an agreement on disengagement on the north and south banks of Pangong Lake. After this agreement, India-China will remove forward deployments in a phased, coordinated manner."

Rajnath Singh said that the military commanders of the two sides will be holding a meeting within 48 hours of the completion of disengagement. Delivering a statement in the Rajya Sabha, Singh said that China has agreed to move their troops to the Finger 8 area, while India will be moving its troops back till finger 3 Dhan Singh Thapa base.

"China will keep its troops to the east of the Finger 8 at the north bank of Pangong Lake. India will keep its troops at its permanent base near Finger 3," Singh said.

"Our sustained talks with China have led to agreement on disengagement on the north and south banks of Pangong Lake. After this agreement, India-China will remove forward deployments in a phased, coordinated manner," Singh said while assuring the nation that India will not compromise even an inch of its land to anyone.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also said that is happy to announce that India has lost nothing in the dialogue with China. "We have an agreement on disengagement on the North and South Banks of Pangong Tso. Our security forced have proven that they are ready to face any challenge to protect the sovereignty of the country", Rajnath Singh in Rajya Sabha.

"First, both parties must agree on LAC & respect it. Secondly, there shouldn't be an attempt to change the status unilaterally, by any party. Thirdly, all the compromises should be completely agreed upon by both parties," Singh said.

Defence Minister also said that talks will continue until there is disengagement at all friction points, Defence Minister.
