Rajasthan Drama In SC Now, Speaker Files Petition Against HC Order Deferring Action Against Pilot & 18 MLAs

Rajasthan politics: Rajasthan legislative assembly speaker CP Joshi has knocked the doors of Supreme Court against the Rajasthan High Court which asked him to not take any action against the 19 rebel MLAs. Speaker's responsibilities are well defined by Supreme Court and Constitution. As a Speaker I got an application and to seek information on it, I issued show-cause notice. No Action Against Him, Other Rebel MLAs Till July 24, Says HC The high court on Tuesday heard the petition by Sachin Pilot and 18 other dissident Congress MLAs, challenging the disqualification notices issued to them by the state assembly speaker. The Rajasthan High Court on Tuesday asked the Rajasthan legislative assembly speaker not to act on disqualification notices issued by him to the 19 MLAs till July 24. The high court has fixed 24th July as date for passing order and the hearing before Speaker has also been deferred by Court. ED raids Ashok Gehlot’s brother Agrasen Gehlot’s farmhouse: Meanwhile, troubles seem to soar for Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, whose brothers’ farmhouse is being raided by Enforcement Directorate. Enforcement Directorate is conducting searches at several locations in Rajasthan, West Bengal, Gujarat and Delhi, over the 2009 fertiliser scam. Raids being held at the premises of Agrasen Gehlot who is facing a Rs 7 crore Customs penalty in this alleged fertiliser case, officials said and at the residence of former MP Badri Ram Jakhar.
