The Border Security Force (BSF) foiled an intrusion attempt by Pakistan on the Srikaranpur border area in Rajasthan on Saturday, on the 14th anniversary of the 26/11 Mumbai attack.
The 39-year-old intruder, identified as Safdar Hussain, hails from Pakistan’s Bahawalnagar district was shot below the waist after he defied caution by the sentry, informed BSF.
BSF said that the intruder was later handed over to the Pakistan Rangers after questioning.

Safdar Hussain (39), R/o Izafi Basti Chak 46 Fateh, Dist Bahawalnagar was shot below the waist, on defying caution by Sentry; given first aid, after questioning handed over to Pak Rangers,” BSF Rajasthan tweeted on Saturday.
Earlier in the day, BSF informed shooting down a Quadcopter DJI Matrice 300 RTK (Chinese drone) entering from Pakistan into Indian territory near Village- Daoke, Distt- Amritsar.
BSF suspected a flying object coming from the Pakistani side at around 9.05 pm on Friday, reported ANI. Security personnel deployed at Border Outpost in the Amritsar sector fired six rounds from their INSAS rifles and brought down the drone.

“The drone will be sent to the BSF Francis unit after investigation,” ANI quoted BSF Commandant Jasbir Singh as saying. He further said that in the last two months, Border Security Force (BSF) shot down three drones in the Amritsar area.
BSF has informed that till July this year, a total of 107 drones from across the border were spotted in Indian territory as compared to 97 drones last year.
64 cases were reported in Punjab last year, 31 in Jammu, while two were found crossing the Line of Control in Jammu.
