Former Rajasthan Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Ashok Gehlot on Friday announced that he has tested positive for COVID-19 and swine flu. In a post on his official X handle, the Congress leader warned people to take care of their health as the seasons change. "Due to fever for the last few days, today I got myself tested on the advice of doctors which confirmed (that I have) Covid and swine flu. Because of this, I will not be able to meet (anyone) for the next seven days," Gehlot wrote in hindi on X.


"In this changing season, everyone should also take care of their health," he said.






According to sources, the former Chief Minister has been admitted to SMS Hospital's IDH facility in Jaipur for further recuperation, news agency ANI reported.


The former CM's status is now stable, and he is healing under doctor's care. Gehlot also recommended people to focus their health amid the transitional season.


Covid Cases


According to statistics released by the Union Health Ministry, 187 persons in the country tested positive for Covid-19 on Friday.


The country's entire caseload increased to 4,50,25,792 with the inclusion of additional patients. It also featured the new JN.1 Covid variant instances.


There were 74 new cases reported from Karnataka, 49 from Maharashtra, and 11 from West Bengal.


Six more cases were recorded in the national capital.


According to the data, three additional persons died from the sickness, bringing the total to 5,33,451. Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh all reported one death.


On the other side, 141 persons recovered from the sickness, bringing the total to 4,44,90,960.


The country's active cases total 1,381.
